Background

"Hello!"_{~ Jerry the Flumph}

Jerry is one of a colony of Flumphs that lived inside underdark tunnels that sat underneath residential housing. When their psychic powers began causing mental distress in the human residents, the United Clergy of Orun sent Solliandris, an Aasimar of Orun, to exterminate them. However, when Solly learned the Flumphs were peaceful and meant no harm, she began teaching them of Orun and his clergy, who the flumphs were excited to learn about. Unfortunately, Jerry and his friends would meet a painful end when Viantius Apastrophi followed Solly to their cave and incinerated them.

...Or so it was once thought.

As it turned out, Jerry lived through the pogroms of Flumphs near Paraton by playing dead, and wandered deep to the Alivast Underdark and found the Undersun in search of i and the Great Eyed One, where he learned more about Orun, and eventually pledged his service to it. The Unexpectables came across him to their utter disbelief above the Gauntlet. He led them happily to the Undersun, where they met Bob, and helped facilitate their trial.

Personality

Like all Flumphs, Jerry is not particularly bright nor is he particularly deep, but he is very friendly and always willing to make a new friend. He's also particularly dedicated to the Great Eyed One.

Relations

Solly

Jerry was good friends with Solly and always greeted her with an enthusiastic "Hello!". He never, ever forgot her and was worried for his dear friend when he never saw her again, and was ecstatic to hear she had indeed remembered him and was happy (and extremely overwhelmed) to hear he had lived.

The Unexpectables

Jerry and the Unexpectables never met in person, as he perished long before Solly had the opportunity to introduce them. However, the group saw Solly's memory of Jerry while in Stillhavity's realm and were noticeably affected upon witnessing his death...Until much later, when they entered the Underdark, and by happenstance found him in the Gauntlet. It was he who brought them into the realm of the Undersun, and became fast friends with them.

Triva

• Jerry's appearance, voice, and catchphrase are based on Toad from the Super Mario series.
• Jerry was originally supposed to be met the first time the group made it to the Sunken temple of Orun, but they didn't find him.
