Might-Crank (Construct 1)[]

Might-Crank is a magical construct and the first functioning construct completed according to Artimus' designs.

History[]

Might-Crank was Alivast's secret weapon in it's war against the Fire Giants, being a massive creation that could face the Giants head on. It is said that he gained free will when he heard the words of Oreyara, the goddess of clockwork, but later was clarified that Might-Crank had heard the word of Vetrion instead.

Before the The Unexpectable's arrival in Alivast, Might-Crank was destroyed while defending people from Fire Giants. Remy recalled Might-Crank's fighting prowess when they were protecting citizens evacuating from Tendleheim. It sat abandoned in a field for quite some time, inevitably being recovered by Task and Greckles, where it had unintentionally become haunted by the spirits of the dead Vetrion soldiers that had clung to it's body in time. After the impromptu exorcism, Might-Crank was returned to Alivast where he was repaired by the Silver Kobolds. After some hijinks, the Unexpectables gave him the new designation of protecting Alivast.

Might-Crank's first official mission brought it deep into the heart of Fleur de Mort's forest, where it quickly regained it's reputation for

Personality[]

Perhaps unsurprisingly for the first construct to achieve sentience, Might-Crank is the most openly robotic of his kind; requiring being directed towards most of his goals and directives.

Relationships[]

Artimus[]

Artimus was one of Might-Crank's creators. After Might-Crank had fallen in battle, Artimus had a statue of the construct commissioned to stand with the other monuments to The City of Alivast. Might-Crank seemed saddened by the death of his creator.

Dullmar[]

Dullmar had a burning hatred for Might-Crank, seeing the construct as a symbol of Artimus' success in creating artificial life. He was once arrested for defacing the statue that was sculpted in Might-Crank's memory. Might-Crank had no recollection of Dullmar in his archived memory.

Remy[]

Remy and Might-Crank both were part of the Alivast army's delaying action to hold back the fire giants during the evacuation of Tendelheim. Might-Crank recognized Remy as a soldier when he was awoken from his slumber. When asking the Unexpectables about where the war is, only Remy's answer seemed to resonate with Might-Crank.

Trivia[]

  • It's possible Suplex Thunder achieved sentience before Might-Crank, but nobody knows for certain.
  • It was later found that Log, a prototype construct was the first sentient Construct, not Might-Crank.
  • Might-Crank fought in life with his bare fists, but was capable of using swords, improvised weapons, and a targeting system
  • It is said that he chose his own name, though Artimus said otherwise.
  • The silver Kobolds are uncertain of Might-Crank's sentience and hesitate to upgrade him.
  • When speaking, Might-Crank only states one word at a time. Monty uses the same tin can to speak as she uses for Log's voice.
  • Might-Crank does not consider the other constructs to be his family, since they did not fulfill their designations.
  • Might-Cranks directives can be easily changed, which led to a small incident where he was designated the directive 'uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh.' He also thought he was promoted to Captain of the city guard when Task told him Brorc Bronze-Fang has had a promotion.
  • Balfor Balton made Remy believe he needed to talk like Might-Crank in order to give him directives.
  • Might-Crank's archived memory is very outdated.
